Congratulations to the Winners of AIA Designathon 2017!
We are proud to announce that Equator College students came in first at AIA Malaysia Designathon 2017 last weekend! After 3 days of brain storming and pouring their creative juices onto pen and paper, they have managed to come up on top with the first prize of RM5000 and 2 consolation prizes! Round of applause for these 15 young ladies and gentlemen everyone! And thank you to AIA Malaysia for making this happen!
SEBE Alumni & Student Design Showcase 2017
In conjunction with Equator College's 30th Anniversary year long celebration, we have collaborated with Penfurnex for our School of Engineering & Built Environment Alumni & Student Design Showcase! The exhibition features award winning artworks and portfolios from our notable alumni,students and also fun interior decorating d.i.y workshops for the public. We are also honored to have the event officiated by our Chief Minister,Y.A.B Tuan Lim Guan Eng. The 3 day event was held at Setia SPICE Arena on the 16th to 18th of June.
Starbuck Art Flavor!
The Fine Art Department recently painted murals all along the Starbucks Tanjong Tokong compound! Inspired by local culture and vibrant colours, our 6 talented students transformed the grey walls of the compound into a fun filled scenery with whimsical cartoons, patterns and humour! We would like to thank Starbucks for the wonderful opportunity to leave our mark on such a big brand!
Local Designer Rocks London
Really proud to have one of our Fashion Design Technology Alumni finally made it on the international stage! Round of applause for Han Chong and his London based brand self-portrait! Featuring an impressive list of clients from the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton to Hollywood A Lister, Marion Cotillard, Han Chong is taking the fashion world by storm and it doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon ladies and gentlemen!

Tokyo Japan Study Trip 2017
Our Digital 3D Animation Department recently traveled to Tokyo during the semester break holidays for their study trip.
Visiting notable studios such as Kotobukiya, Polygon Pictures Inc., Square Enix and pop culture icon and entrepreneur, Danny Choo, the trip was as enjoyable as it is knowledgeable.
They even got an in depth tour and guide from the Development Team for Final Fantasy 15 at Square Enix, how awesome is that!
Entrepreneurs Club - The Importance of Company Branding & Management
Our Marketing Communication's Entrepreneurs Club had the opportunity to sit in with Mr. Johnson Lim, one of the second generation owners of Seven Village Noodle House 七廊粿条汤 as the successful entrepreneur talks about the importance of marketing and advertising, how to handle public relations and customer service effectively, and on 7 Village's brand management. It was a very insightful and knowledgeable sharing experience and we would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Mr. Johnson Lim and 7 Village Noodle House for taking the time out of their busy schedule for this sharing session.

Equator College is honored to welcome Mr. Andy Vella, an established graphic designer and lecturer from Middlesex University, UK as he presents and shares his work with our students. It was an eye opening and knowledgeable session for everyone present as Mr. Vella shares his insight and experiences on some of his notable portfolio including designing album covers and books for established musicians and artists worldwide.
School of Fashion - Alumni Showcase 2017
In collaboration with Gurney Plaza Fashion Month 2017 and to celebrate Equator turning 30 this year, Equator's School of Fashion presented a fashion show to celebrate the men and women behind the Malaysian fashion industry. To reflect on the college's 30th Anniversary tagline 'Driven by Passion, the theme for the fashion showcase "Out of Public View" is to introduce the individuals who are driven by their passion, creativity and dedication to fashion and their roles in the industry. The fashion show featured Equator's alumni who contributed in designing, product development, manufacturing and merchandising to the education line.
The showcase is also a reunion of Equator's 17 Fashion alumni whom graduated from the year 1993 to 2016 as they join together to conquer the runway with their masterpieces from stylish Ready-to-Wear pieces to sophisticated and elegant evening wears. Special thanks to Gurney Plaza Penang for making this happen!

Voyage Graduation Showcase 2017

Equator College is excited to welcome Master photographer Liao Xiao Xi from China for his first photography seminar in Malaysia at our Leith St. Campus. Learn and discover world class photography skills from the master himself as he shares his experiences and creative techniques behind the camera.
Event will be held at 8pm, Wednesday the 8th of February @ Leith St. Campus. The event is open to public, free admission (limited seating).
The project is in collaboration with the Photographic Society of Penang.
